welcome!

Liz Cartojano (she/her) is a Filipino American director, choreographer, dancer, actor, and collaborator living in Los Angeles.

She graduated Cum Laude with an Associate of Arts degree in Dance from Irvine Valley College where she won the dance department's Chair Award. Liz also graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Theatre Arts with an emphasis in Devised Theatre & Performance from California State University of Fullerton where she was awarded the Graduating Senior Scholarship. She has been a practitioner of Hip Hop street styles since 2007 which serves as a heavy influence on her movement expression in tandem with her technical dance training. While movement is her main form of expression, Liz incorporates theatrical storytelling elements to her works which brings a familiar humanness to the movement. Liz creates works for live performance and film that captures a story or commentary about the world we live in. Her theatre and dance background has shaped her unique approach to creating works that utilize movement, story, and design.

When Liz is not creating, you can find her somewhere in nature, browsing at a thrift shop, or listening to a podcast.
